The Soldier's Cabin

This small red cabin is called the Soldiers Cabin. It is currently the oldest house in the village, constructed in 1791. It was brought here from the mainland since Russian soldiers used all the wood on Björkö to repair their naval ships during the Great Wrath (~ 1720). The cottage is most famous for housing Russian Cossack Major Kiseleff the night before he and his army attacked Sweden in 1809.
